A BI-monthly publication available at the end of every other month, except July & August, at Maspeth Bank and the NFP Library.
The Civic is now able to offer a premium reduction to members who insure with Liberty Mutual Insurance - talk to George Natali at our next meeting.
Karen Ellis from DEP explained the AWR (below) program, the cost and benefits. The mailing sent out reflects the initial cost of monthly coverage and will be slightly increased after a year. Also as AWR's contract is renewed, there could be changes in cost. This coverage is only for that section of the water & sewer lines that are on the resident's property - all lines in the street are the responsibility of NYC.
Apparently AWR will also "roto-rooter" clogged sewer lines.

#5 WATER LINE COVERAGE: "WATER SERVICE LINE FROM CONNECTION WITH" NYC DEP "SYSTEM TO THE WATER METER OR MAIN SHUT OFF VALVE INSIDE YOUR HOME." REFERS TO "LEAK OR BREAK TO YOUR WATER LINE."

Queens Sanitation Community Outreach Rep. Ignazio Terranova updated us on garbage pickup change which is back to the normal schedule - DO NOT place bags at curb before 5 PM. Also the recyle bins scattered about - Juno & Yellowstone has them - are not being used properly. People are dumping all sorts of gross items and not adhering to proper disposal. The same for the trash bins on Metro & Austin St. They are NOT for household garbage.
